ELLIE G'S ICE CREAM

Ellie G’s Ice Cream is small-batch, unapologetically topping-heavy (no digging for gold), free of preservatives, and inspired by nostalgic, feel-good flavors that remind you of childhood summers. It is dang good ice cream, and "the best I've ever had" said by customers. It also represents my own journey toward food freedom - enjoying dessert again, guilt-free.

I’m so grateful to everyone who’s supported Ellie G’s along the way. Thank you for being here!

Love you all,

Ellie G (the ice cream girl)

Ellie G’s started from my San Francisco apartment in June of 2022 - when I was working from home, feeling stuck and going through it. I was in need of a creative outlet outside of my corporate job and baking and being in the kitchen always made me feel better. I grew up making homemade ice cream with my grandma, Mimi and as an ice cream fanatic, I decided to try and make my own at home. I was shocked at how good my homemade ice cream was and how much fun I had experimenting with flavors. I documented my journey on social media and what started as a weekly hobby quickly turned into therapy, joy, and freezer chaos shared with friends across SF and Marin.

By March 2023, my sister convinced me to start selling it, and soon people were lining up outside my Cow Hollow apartment. I was making ice cream both before and after my 9-5 and soon my freezer consisted of only Ellie G's. I became obsessed (maybe too obsessed) but it didn't matter, because it was the only thing making me feel better and excited about life again! After wanting to move to NYC for a long time, once my spark  came back I finally decided to make the jump and move that summer. I was worried Ellie G's would no longer be possible in my tiny new york apartment and my passion would come to an end. But, after arriving at my West Village apartment with a broken freezer and having to wait a few weeks for it to be replaced, I missed churning so much and knew I couldn’t stop. My first NYC drop sold out, and a cult following with repeating customers continued to grow. What started as a hobby turned into a full on business, built off of community and ice cream fanatics. The momentum continued to build with customers and then followed collaborations with brands creating a custom flavor - rag & bone, Miyoko’s Creamery, Malk, Hot Take Cookies, J.Crew, ba&sh, and One Trick Pony Peanut Butter. This pushed me to scale quickly and finally make the switch from my apartment to a commercial kitchen. Ellie G's is now available to order through hotplate for pick up in NYC only.
